Everyone I have spoken with over the past week seems to share a strong sense of optimism as we head into 2026. I hope you are feeling that positive energy in your own life as well.

This week finds many of us navigating the inevitable task of closing out 2025 and preparing for the year ahead—yes, tax prep season has arrived. A quick reminder for homeowners: if you have not yet applied for your Homestead Exemption, you may file at the Camden County Courthouse in Woodbine now through April 1. This exemption can help reduce the property tax liability on your primary residence. Additional details are available here:

On a lighter note, Mom, Sue, and I have been sampling a variety of workout classes at the St. Marys Senior Center. The range of offerings is impressive, and we are enjoying trying different options to find the best fit. An added bonus has been meeting neighbors and new friends along the way. I am truly grateful to live in a community that supports and invests in such a wonderful facility.

We are also hoping to make it to the zoo to enjoy the holiday lights before they come down at the end of the month. This past weekend was spent tackling yard work, including raking leaves—an experience I never quite expected to have in January as a Northern girl. Still, I’ll happily take raking leaves over shoveling snow and ice any day.

Specialty Class: Echoes of the Soul   Past life regression is a guided meditative experience that invites participants into a deeply relaxed, inwardly focused state where imagination, memory, and subconscious symbolism become more accessible. In this state, people may experience images, sensations, emotions, narratives, or archetypal scenes that feel as though they belong to another time, place, or identity.
Some interpret these experiences literally, as memories of previous lives; others understand them psychologically or symbolically, as expressions of the subconscious mind, ancestral memory, or the psyche’s way of communicating meaning through story. All interpretations are welcome, and the experience is approached with curiosity, grounding, and care.

Throughout the meditation, I’ll play a combination of instruments, including singing bowls, ocean drum, rain stick, seed shell shaker, and gong. We’ll begin and end with gentle breathwork and a sharing circle to support grounding and integration.
Participants will be given journals and invited to write at the beginning to set an intention, and again at the end to capture reflections and insights from the experience.
This specialty class is 2.5 hours long and costs $50 per person.
Pre-registration is required.
A credit card is required to reserve your spot, but you will not be charged until you arrive.

If you’re like most Christians, you wish you could honor God more with your finances. But between debt payments and living paycheck to paycheck, you don’t feel like you can. There’s hope! Our church is hosting a Financial Peace University class, where you’ll learn how to get out of debt and free up your money to live, give and serve how God wants you to!
You talk to your friends about kids, your new diet, and how crazy your boss is. But debt? Budgeting? That’s when things get weird. Not in an FPU class.
You can get real about what’s going on with your money because everyone’s made a mistake or two. (Or 10. Or 100. Who’s counting?) Only this time, you’ll make lasting changes because you’ll have a community at your back saying, “You’ve got this!”
Join us, as our finance secretary, Trisha King, leads us in Financial Peace University created by Dave Ramsey. Beginning Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 4:30-6 PM, Trisha will guide us through this 9 week course and help us start the New Year with a foundation of God’s and grandma’s ways of handling money.
Members: $20 per couple/2 people
Non-Members: $100 per couple/2 people
Childcare is available for FREE to both members and non-members.
