FUN THINGS GOING ON - EMO + Pop Punk Night

Happy Labor Day!

I’ve been keeping busy and just wrapped up a big project—sewing new cushions for our outdoor furniture that’s currently being refurbished. The furniture isn’t back yet, but at least the cushions are ready and waiting. Still plenty left to do, but it feels good to have one piece finished.

We’re planning a simple celebration this weekend—grilling burgers with neighbors and having Mom over. She’s doing much better and making real progress. After seeing the wound care surgeon and starting on statins, the dog bite wound is finally beginning to close, which is such a relief after a couple of weeks of concern.

John and I will be heading to Disney for a few days to celebrate his birthday. Next year is a milestone birthday, so we’ll plan something bigger then, but this year we’re looking forward to a few days of relaxation and quiet time together.

James also had a full weekend running the local chess tournament. With a few last-minute additions, they had an excellent turnout—about half the participants came from Florida. It’s a very encouraging sign for the growth of their club.
