Spooky Season in Full Swing!
Spooky things are coming our way! Have you had a chance to drive downtown and see the scarecrows being set up along Osborne? There are some excellent ones this year. The annual Scarecrow Stroll will be held on October 26th from 1–4 p.m., and it’s always such a fun event. Mom is especially looking forward to seeing all the little ones dressed up in their costumes—it’s one of her favorite parts of the season.
We also celebrated a very special milestone recently—Mom turned 90! We had a lovely party with family and friends to mark the occasion. The big “royal visit” is coming to an end, though—Princess Leah and her entourage will be heading home tomorrow. It’s been such a delightful visit, and we’ll miss having them around.
As for us, autumn is shaping up to be a season of small projects and steady progress. Yard work and home maintenance are keeping us busy. Our latest adventure was dealing with a surprise moth invasion in the pantry! They hatched Saturday evening, and we spent Sunday deep cleaning every inch—ceiling, walls, floor, and shelves. Bless James for tackling most of it! John, however, drew the line at painting the closet while it was empty (can’t say I blame him). Everything is clean, reorganized, and back in place now—just a faint reminder of bug spray remains. Apparently, this is a rite of passage; I’ve since heard from several friends, including Mom, who have dealt with the same problem. Hopefully, it’s my first and last encounter with pantry moths!

You do not have to enter in any particular place. You may enter at any side street!
