Happy Father's Day to all.  We are having a quiet day today working on paperwork.  We will have a nice dinner together this evening to mark the day.  James is off to his chess group.  He has been invited to a sponsored travel team.  He is very excited to have someone else picking up the fees and hotel costs.  The company is even providing team shirts.  Should be interesting.  I had no idea chess had made such a come back in recent years.

John and i had a lovely visit up North to see his mother (in memory care) and our daughter Mary.  It was great that John's mom still recognized us.  She didn't remember the next day that we had been there, but she knew us while we were there.  What an ugly disease.  She will turn 93 next week.  We also had an opportunity to check something off our bucket list.  We stopped in at South of the Border and had breakfast on our way home.  It was nicer than I was anticipating.  We may have to stop in again and play some mini golf on one of our trips.  Reminded me a bit of an older version of Bucees  - everything is branded.  They did have some cute tshirts.  Coffee was great.

I have included an article out of our Sunday Bulletin by Fr. Gerard.  He is a monk from Cleveland Ohio serving in the military diocese here in Kingsbay.  Interesting man who had lead an interesting life.  I hope you enjoy this article on "Father's" and where they come from.

Best regards,

Cathy
