Easter Greetings!
As we continue through the second half of the Easter Season, we look ahead to Pentecost Sunday on June 8th. John and I will be up very early tomorrow morning for a special anniversary trip to Disney. It will be our first visit in quite some time, and we are both looking forward to some much-needed fun and relaxation.
For the first time, we will be staying at Shades of Green, Disney’s military resort. We plan to take full advantage of the spa services and are excited to dine at the resort’s steakhouse on our final evening. There are a few attractions we are eager to experience before they are retired, including the Rivers of America (Liberty Bell) and the Muppet 3D Movie. Unfortunately, we missed It’s a Bug’s Life at Animal Kingdom, which closed last month. Astro Orbiter and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are also currently closed for refurbishment.
It has been a busy season helping Mom with her move and getting her settled, so we are looking forward to a few days of rest. As always, I remain available by phone, text, or email should you need to reach me. I will return to the office on Friday.
On another note, James is participating in another chess tournament today. He won the tournament in Jacksonville last weekend and is preparing to advance to larger competitions. He recently connected with a travel group based in Jacksonville that attends various tournaments by invitation. It has been fascinating to learn about how that side of the chess world operates.
The local chess group here has also grown from 8 to 14 members, allowing for the organization of smaller tournaments. In addition to his chess activities, James will be helping Grandma Char this week with mulching, trimming (and removing) bushes, and painting a closet. He will certainly be ready for a break by the time we return!
