Greetings!
We live in the best country in the WORLD. This special anniversary 4th of July celebration was incredible. I haven't seen this kind of energy since the bicentennial celebration. If you haven't seen them yet, go on Youtube and look up video reactions from World Cup soccer visitors here in the US. Apparently Ranch dressing is now a thing. BBQue and tailgating has also been discovered. We may have a new wave of people immigrating here. I'm proud to be an American.
We had a quiet weekend at home. Doing some gardening to add a little polish to the back yard now that the grass is established. I am hoping my neighbor will take pity on me and help with some basic layout design. She has the magic touch. I'm good at digging the feeding, not so good at selection and placement. We did have one funny/not so funny incident: We had stopped by Kingsland meat to pick up burgers for the 4th to grill. They have great burgers - and hotdogs too. Grabbed two packs of 4 out of the freezer without really looking. John was grilling when he got an odd look on his face, said they looked wrong. I went back and pulled the wrapping out the of the trash, put my glasses on and it turned out they were chicken burgers. Tasted great, but they were not angus burgers. I think we are going to be referring to this 4th for years to come - the year of the chicken.

There are lots of interesting activities going on in our area this summer. I hope I will see you at one or two events.
Best regards,
Cathy
