Greetings!

I am here to offer a bit of personal testimony on why you might consider hiring out your yard work.

A couple of weeks ago, after one of those blustery Georgia days, I headed outside to do what we all do this time of year—pick up pinecones and fallen debris. It’s just part of life when you live among pine trees.

Somewhere in the process, completely unnoticed, I was bitten on the back of my leg by a brown recluse spider.

If you’re not familiar, it’s not something I recommend looking up right before dinner.

A few days later, I had a red, swollen, and rather alarming wound that convinced me it was time to see a doctor. Upon taking one look, the immediate reaction was… let’s just say memorable… followed quickly by, “Can we take pictures?”

Up until that moment, I hadn’t been overly concerned.

I’m now on two different medications I can’t pronounce and was advised it could take several weeks to fully resolve. The most amusing part of the visit was being asked if I had recently been anywhere warm and moist. My answer: “Yes—every time I step outside my front door.”

The good news is I’m improving and seem to be past the worst of it (including the sweats and shivers phase, which I would not recommend). The better news? I am now seriously considering a full-service yard company.

On a much lighter note, I’ve started planting for summer.

Nothing elaborate—just some cheerful marigolds around the front door with dusty miller for a little contrast. I’ve added a delphinium out back and lavender near the mailbox.

And in a small but delightful surprise, I discovered an old bulb I had more or less abandoned outside after Christmas… now happily blooming again. I brought it back inside to the family room to enjoy.

There’s something to be said for plants that thrive despite neglect. It even has another bud forming, so I may get a second bloom. I’ve truly never seen the like.

Jesus asks a simple but soul-searching question—and offers a life-changing promise. “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink… rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:37–38)
In a world that constantly demands our energy, attention, and strength, many women are running on empty. This conference is a space to pause, breathe, and be reminded where true fullness comes from. Together, we’ll create room for God to meet us personally—through worship, teaching, and intentional connection.
Are You Thirsty? is about more than a moment; it’s about realignment. It’s an opportunity to let go of what drains us and receive what restores us, trusting that God still refreshes hearts and renews purpose.
