FUN THINGS GOING ON - Summer Fun 2025

Real Estate

It seems that summer has decided to arrive early this year.  The temperature shift has been a bit sudden.  Oh well, we will adapt.  I have finished my most recent sewing project.  I had a bedspread with a great top, but the thin backing was shredding.  I purchased some fabric at Beyond Fabric (Spring sale 30% off!) and matching piping, and have turned it into a reversable quilt - Summer/Winter.  It was a bugger to top stich everything down because of the weight and bulk.  There are one or two places I had to make some minor adjustments.  I didn't have anywhere large enough to lay the entire quilt out flat to line all the layers up exactly.  But overall, I am pleased with the result.  Time to start looking for a new project.  What do you think?

In two weeks, we’ll be heading up to Pennsylvania to visit John’s mother, who is in memory care, spend time with our daughter Mary, and attend John’s 50th high school reunion. He’s really looking forward to the event. While I can’t quite share his enthusiasm—having no personal ties to the area—it will be interesting to see how many classmates attend. I’ve heard that many schools are now opting for multi-year reunions, which certainly makes sense.

I’m also hoping Mary might consider relocating closer to us. Her company offers a transfer program, and there are offices in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa. She’s built a good life for herself in Pennsylvania, but I miss her dearly and would love to have her nearby.

Thank you so much for your continued interest and prayers for Mom. She’s settling in well and beginning to connect with her new neighbors. As always, she’s incredibly active in her yard—something she’s loved for years. She’s currently managing glaucoma, which requires injections every six weeks, but they do seem to be helping significantly. The paperwork involved in her transition has been overwhelming at times, but thankfully, John has been amazing at navigating it all.

We’re still waiting for her house in Punta Gorda to sell. Inventory in the area has increased substantially, so we would certainly appreciate continued prayers.

Best regards,

Cathy
