I had the thrill—again—of replacing a tire thanks to a nail. That makes two this year! With all the road construction around here, I don’t think there’s a single route I drive that isn’t being worked on. It’s exciting to see the growth, but the day-to-day impact isn’t always so fun.
On a lighter note, Mom and I made it to the grand opening of Aldi. It was a bit of an adventure! There was some confusion over the shopping carts—you insert a quarter to unlock a cart, and when you return it, you get the quarter back. I first saw this system at a Price Right in New Jersey back in the ’90s. It’s simple and smart—and keeps prices down.
We also just got back from a big trip up North for John’s 50th high school reunion and visits with his mother and our daughter. It was a wonderful trip with lots of driving, but well worth it. Now I’m happy to be home, enjoying some quiet time and fussing in the yard.
Regards,
Cathy

Audition Workshop:
Our usual audition workshop will take place during Broadway Boot Camp (June 16-20) the week prior to auditions. Attendance does not influence casting, but can assist you in being better prepared.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: Orpheus: A romantic poet and musician, Orpheus believes in the transformative power of his music. He is kind, naive, and driven by his love for Eurydice. He's a tenor with strong falsetto.
Eurydice: A resilient young woman, Eurydice is pragmatic and shaped by hardship. She's vulnerable and distrustful, but her love for Orpheus is strong. She is a Mezzo-Soprano
Hades: The King of the Underworld, Hades is a compulsive industrialist and Persephone's husband. He is powerful but also vulnerable, particularly in his relationship with his wife. He's a Bass.
Persephone: The Queen of nature and the seasons, Persephone is disenchanted with her life with Hades and seeks to escape the confines of her marriage. She is a Mezzo-Soprano/Alto.
Hermes: The charismatic guide and storyteller, Hermes acts as a mentor to Orpheus, guiding him on his journey. He's a Tenor/Bass.
The Fates: Three divine sisters who decide the fate of mortals. They sing in the background, commenting on the characters' choices and pushing the story forward. They are Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, and Alto.
Workers: Represent the spirits of labor and community, they are a physical and choral presence in Hadestown.
The Muses: While not explicitly named in the character breakdown, the Muses are important to the story as Orpheus's mother and Hermes' friend.
Gods: Gods like Apollo and others play a role in the background of the story.
