Happy Earth Day! I'm going to plant the Hydrangea I received for Easter in one of my beds on the shady side of the house. What are you up to today?
Mom is busy hacking back the overgrowth in the back of her yard. She appears to be making some headway, though James ended up with a big rash on his neck and arm from something growing in the tangle. Her bird feeder was trashed by the squirrels so she has duck taped it back together. She also said she is finally ready to get into therapy. Yea!
James went to another chess tournament Saturday and won. He's trying to build up his ranking to be invited to the larger tournaments. He was invited to act as judge at a smaller tournament here in the area. Other than that, John and I are working hard on our MOAA (Military Officers Assoc. of America) fund raiser raffle. We are raffling off an antique Colt revolver. I have tickets if you are interested. I have started a new sewing project. I have a bedspread I like that the backing started shredding, but the top an fill is is good shape. I have picked up some new fabric at Beyond Fabric in Kingsland. I am turning the quilt into a reversable quilt (summer/winter). I love the piping I found for the edging. I think the top stitching on the seaming turned out well. It's a lot of bulk to push through the sewing machine. Having fun.
