Greetings from the (briefly) frozen South!
This morning’s thermostat photo was a reminder of why we moved a good part of the country south—to avoid starts like this. Still, it’s hard to complain. Historic archives even show snowfall in Stark, Florida, and the year our daughter was born in Pensacola, it turned so cold we had to have a snowsuit shipped down from family up north. That same daughter is now waking up to 11 degrees in Pennsylvania with nearly three feet of snow on the ground. All things considered, we’re happy to be calling Georgia home.
A quick cold-weather reminder: be sure to cover exterior water faucets and protect any pumps. The good news is that this cold front should move through soon.
Another beginning-of-the-year reminder: If you haven’t yet filed for your Homestead Exemption, you have until April 1 to do so at the Camden County Courthouse. The clerk’s office is friendly and efficient, and the exemption can significantly reduce your property tax liability on your primary residence.
